The Meridian Office is a workplace transformation project designed to support evolving patterns of hybrid work, collaboration, and employee wellbeing. The redesign reimagines the traditional corporate office as a flexible and hospitality-driven environment where productivity, comfort, and interaction coexist within a calm architectural framework. The project emphasizes openness, adaptability, and human-centered spatial planning while maintaining a refined professional identity.
Beginning
Following major shifts in workplace culture and remote collaboration, the client sought to redefine the role of its headquarters beyond the conventional office model. The goal was to create an environment that encouraged employees to reconnect physically while supporting a broader range of work styles and team interactions.
Initial workshops with leadership and staff revealed the need for more collaborative areas, quieter focused workspaces, and informal social environments that felt less rigid and institutional.
The project therefore became less about maximizing desk density and more about designing an ecosystem of spaces capable of supporting concentration, communication, creativity, and wellbeing throughout the workday.

Site
The office occupied two levels within a high-rise commercial tower in central Singapore. Although the existing space offered strong panoramic views and generous floor area, the original layout suffered from disconnected circulation, limited communal spaces, and an overreliance on enclosed meeting rooms.
Access to natural daylight varied significantly across the floorplates, requiring careful zoning strategies to improve spatial quality and employee comfort.
Acoustic performance also became a major consideration due to the open-plan nature of the redesigned workplace.
Design
The design strategy introduced a layered workplace environment organized around flexibility and spatial clarity. Open collaborative zones were positioned near shared circulation paths, while quieter work areas and focused meeting spaces were placed along the perimeter to maximize daylight access.
A hospitality-inspired approach shaped many of the communal areas, incorporating lounge seating, café-style gathering spaces, and soft material palettes to create a more welcoming atmosphere. Natural materials including oak, textured stone, brushed metal, and acoustic fabric panels contributed to a calm and balanced interior identity.
Integrated planting systems were introduced throughout the office to soften transitions between spaces and improve environmental comfort. Lighting design combined indirect illumination with targeted task lighting to support different working modes throughout the day.
Furniture systems were selected for adaptability, allowing teams to reconfigure spaces depending on project needs, meetings, or collaborative sessions.

Result
The completed workplace significantly improved spatial efficiency while creating a healthier and more engaging environment for employees. The redesign increased opportunities for collaboration without sacrificing privacy or focused work conditions.
Employee feedback following occupancy highlighted improvements in comfort, communication, and overall workplace satisfaction. The project ultimately transformed the headquarters into a more flexible and future-oriented environment aligned with the company’s evolving culture and operational needs.
